Baby Table Bumpers - Needs Improvement

Well, it certainly has been a long time since I blogged.  I've been holding off until I finished a project.  My babies have been standing and exploring ALOT so I've been working double time on the baby bumper for the coffee table. 

After completing it according to my blueprints, I realized it didn't do the job intended.  It doesn't stay up around the top, especially when the baby it tugging at it.

So, I decided to make it an entire table cover.  I need to add a piece of fabric to the middle, which will hold the edges of the bumper in place.  This slight disappointment has really unmotivated me.  It's been days since I've had the bumper "done" and I haven't even taken it off the table yet.  (sigh)  Being so close to the end of a project really slows me down.  Anyone else have that problem?
